Biostimulatory Fillers

What are Biostimulatory Fillers?

Biostimulatory Fillers (Hyperdilute Radiesse, Sculptra, Radiesse Wash) also called collagen stimulators, are advanced injectable treatments that do more than merely occupy space.

They stimulate the body’s own collagen and elastin production over time adding volume as well as smoothing and firming the skin for skin rejuvenation. Whereas many dermal fillers (e.g. hyaluronic acid fillers) work largely by filling or hydrating tissue, biostimulatory fillers initiate or enhance regenerative processes in the dermis, resulting in gradual improvement in skin thickness, firmness, and texture.

Results develop gradually and can last much longer than many standard fillers. The effects tend to develop over weeks to months as the rebuilding of the skin’s support structure takes place. Patients who receive biostimulatory fillers often notice that their results are not only longer lasting but also appear more natural because the body is rebuilding its own supportive structures.

Hyperdilute Radiesse

Hyperdilute Radiesse is a special technique where the filler is thinned out before being injected. This allows it to spread evenly over larger areas, such as the neck, chest, arms, and hands. The goal is not to add volume but to improve skin quality. Hyperdilute Radiesse helps reduce crepiness, tightens loose skin, and enhances elasticity. Patients often notice their skin looks firmer and smoother within a few weeks, with continued improvement over several months.

Radiesse Wash

Radiesse Wash is a technique similar to Hyperdilute Radiesse, where the filler is diluted and gently “washed” into (injected) the skin using a wider distribution. This method is ideal for patients who want to target overall skin texture and firmness rather than add volume. Radiesse Wash helps rejuvenate areas affected by sun damage or aging and creates a smoother, tighter, and more youthful appearance.

Sculptra

Sculptra is another type of biostimulatory filler that works gradually to restore facial volume. Instead of filling lines right away, it stimulates your body to produce new collagen beneath the skin. This process takes time, so results appear slowly and naturally, usually after a series of treatments. Sculptra is especially effective for restoring fullness to areas like the cheeks and temples while also improving overall skin thickness. Results often last up to two years or more.

Together, these biostimulatory fillers give patients different options depending on their goals. Hyperdilute Radiesse and Radiesse Wash are best for improving skin tone and texture across larger areas, while Sculptra is ideal for gradually rebuilding lost volume. Many patients benefit from a personalized plan that combines these treatments for the most natural and long-lasting results.

  • Natural results: Your body stimulates its own collagen production, creating a gradual improvement that looks natural.
  • Long-lasting benefits: Skin appears fuller and smoother, with results that can last up to two years.
  • Enhanced skin quality: Increased collagen not only restores volume but also improves skin texture and elasticity.
  • Little downtime: Most people experience only mild discomfort and are able to return to normal activities within a few days.

Patients who undergo treatment with these diluted formulations often see gradual changes. Within a month or two, fine lines may soften, the skin feels tighter, and elasticity improves. Because the approach treats skin quality rather than volume, it is especially useful in areas where traditional fillers are less effective, such as the thin skin of the neck or the backs of the hands. Depending on the individual’s needs, one to three sessions are typically recommended, spaced several weeks apart. Maintenance treatments may be repeated yearly to preserve results.

At New Orleans Aesthetics, Dr. Zeena uses these advanced techniques to help patients achieve natural, long-lasting results. Whether the goal is to restore facial volume, smooth deeper folds, improve skin texture, or treat delicate areas of the body, biostimulatory fillers provide versatile and effective solutions. By boosting your body’s own collagen and elastin production these techniques create results that look natural and last over time.
